Bio
Miguel Nogueira de Brito received his doctorate from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon where he currently teaches and carries out research. He was a regent in the areas of political science, constitutional law and fundamental rights at undergraduate and master's level, and is a distinguished specialist in the area of general administrative law and public procurement. Alongside his academic career, he has worked as a lawyer and as an advisor to the Constitutional Court, and was also a member of the Superior Council of Administrative and Tax Courts. His research interests focus mainly on political philosophy and law, the distinction between public law and private law, the reviewing powers of constitutional courts and the legal and philosophical foundations of private property. He is also part of the team of a multi-year research project developed within the scope of constitutional law at the Public Law Research Center (CIDP - Centro de Investigação em Direito Público) of the Institute of Legal-Political Sciences (ICJP - Instituto de Ciências Jurídico-Políticas).
