Summary
Discuss with a team of Indian researchers the need, possibility and difficulties of creating an Asian regional Human Rights system, taking into account European, American and African regional experiences. Indian researchers will be responsible for presenting the different Asian regional perspectives on Human Rights. Portuguese researchers will be responsible for presenting the perspective of the European and American Human Rights systems. Doctoral student Shiyue Lu will present the Chinese perspective on Human Rights. African researchers will be invited to present the African perspective on Human Rights.
Objectives
Debate the need, possibility and difficulties of creating an Asian regional Human Rights system, taking into account European, American and African regional experiences.
Relevance
There is not enough discussion on the subject in Portuguese academic institutions.
Allows the strengthening of a partnership with an Indian academic institution.
It leads to the internationalisation of the Public Law Research Center in different geographic areas of the Western academic space.
