Bio

Miguel Prata Roque is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and PhD in Legal-Political Sciences (2014), having presented his PhD dissertation under the title “A Dimensão Transnacional do Direito Administrativo”. He is a member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, of the Board of Directors of the «European Public Law Organization» and Coordinator of the Permanent Observatory of Public Administration. In addition to being an integrated researcher at the Center for Research in Public Law (CIDP - Centro de Investigação em Direito Público) and associated with Institute of Legal and Political Sciences (ICJP – Instituto de Ciências Jurídico-Políticas), he is also associated with IE – European Institute and Institute of Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences (IDPCC – Instituto de Direito Penal e Ciências Criminais). He has coordinated postgraduate courses and given conferences at leading institutions such as the Center for Judicial Studies and CEDIPRE. He has more than 60 published works, in the areas of Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, European Law, Global Law, International Law, Criminal Law, Public Sanctions Law and respective procedural branches. He served as Secretary of State for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (2015-2017), Advisor to the Office of Judges of the Constitutional Court (2007-2014), Deputy to the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs (2005-2007), Member of the National Elections Commission (2006-2007) and Legal Advisor to the Vice-President of the European Parliament (2004-2005).
