Bio
Graduated (1996), Master (2002) and Doctor (2008) from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, where he is currently an associate professor. His research interests focus on Constitutional Law, Political Science and Legal Theory. Among the books he published, the following stand out: “A Autoridade Moral da Constituição” (2009), “Teoria dos Regimes Políticos” (2013) and “O Estado como Representação” (2020), as author, and “O Tribunal Constitucional e a Crise” (2014), Judicial Activism: An Interdisciplinary Approach to the American and European Experiences (2015); and The Political Dimension of Constitutional Law (2020), as co-editor. He has participated in research projects, conferences and collective publications in Portugal and abroad, and has also published several articles in periodical publications, namely “Human Dignity as a Background Idea” (ASRP, 153, 2013, p. 105-115), “ Hannah Arendt's Moral Ontology” (Ratio Juris 28/3, 2015, p. 326-329); “The Machiavellian Case Against Legal Moralism” (San Diego Law Review, 2/2017, p. 345-360); “Political Asceticism from Hobbes to Carré de Malberg” (Católica Law Review 1/2020, pp. 65-80); “The Equality Gap”, (Rechtstheorie, vol. 51/1, 2020, p. 1-10).
