Bio
João Tornada is a Guest Lecturer at the University of Lisbon School of Law and PhD in Law in the field of digital fundamental rights at the Catholic University of Portugal (Lisbon School), where he also graduated and completed his research-oriented Master's degree. He is also an Assistant Researcher at the Public Law Research Centre at the University of Lisbon School of Law and member of the Lisbon Digital Rights Research Project.
Currently João Tornada works as Assistant to the Office of the Portuguese Ombudsman. Previously he worked as a lawyer in litigation and public law and also President of the Disciplinary Board of the Portuguese Fencing Federation.
He is also the author and co-author of various national and international publications on constitutional law, civil procedure and arbitration, including the monograph “A Modificação da Lei Inconstitucional: Estudo sobre as decisões de inconstitucionalidade parcial” (preface by Professor Jorge Miranda) published by Almedina, Lisbon, 2021.
He has also participated in several conferences and courses dedicated to public law, mainly on digital rights.
