Soils are of central importance to all living beings and biodiversity as a whole. However, the issues associated with soils have yet to be addressed through a satisfactory legislative framework.
[…] Aware of this challenge, we sought to promote an interdisciplinary debate under the auspices of the Institute of Legal-Political Sciences, as part of our commitment to holding at least one annual conference dedicated to environmental protection topics. The conference took place on 27 November 2019, featuring speakers from diverse fields and an engaged, inspiring audience. The proceedings of some of these interventions are now published here, complemented by two additional contributions (by Dr. Manuel Gouveia Pereira and Dr. Carlos Valera). These additions are justified by the limited academic literature on the subject and the generosity of the authors in enriching this digital book.
