Bio

Maria João Estorninho is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Law of Lisbon and is President of the Legal-Political Sciences Group. She completed her Aggregation (2007), her PhD (1996) and her Master’s (1990) at FDUL. She is a member of the Scientific Council, President of the FDUL Research Ethics Committee and Coordinator of Post-Doctoral Programs. She is a guest professor at the Catholic University, member of the Coordinating Council of Colégio F3 – Food, Farming and Forestry (interdisciplinary research at ULisboa), main researcher at CDIP-FDUL and member of several scientific associations (eg Societas Iuris Publici Europaei- SIPE). She is a founding member of Cadernos de Justiça Administrativa. She was a member of the European Commission’s Public Procurement Expert Group (EU). Researcher and speaker at conferences on topics such as Human Rights, Administrative Law, Public Contract Law, Health and Food Law, she has published, among others, Requiem for the Administrative Contract, The Escape to Private Law, European Public Contract Law and Health Law. She is a Member of the Superior Council of Administrative and Fiscal Courts, appointed by the President of the Republic.
