Bio

Jaime Valle is Assistant Professor in Public Law at the Institute of Legal and Political Sciences (ICJP) of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. He received his doctorate from the same institution, where he currently teaches, having also taught at the Lusíada University of Lisbon, the Military Academy, the Instituto Superior Técnico and the National University of Timor, having also held the position of Scientific Advisor at the Faculty of Law of Bissau. His research interests lie in the areas of Constitutional Law, Political Science and Political Institutions. Alongside his academic career, he performed legal consultancy roles in the scope of Urban Planning Law and Spatial Planning Law, for various public entities, having provided services to the Lisbon City Council, the General Directorate of Spatial Planning and Urban Development and the General Inspectorate of the Environment. He was Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of State and Spatial Planning. He was also Director of the Department of Legislation, Regulation and Conflicts at the National Railway Transport Institute and Advisor to the Ombudsman. Among the scientific work he has published, the titles “A participação do Governo no exercício da função legislativa”, the monograph “A Provedoria de Justiça na salvaguarda dos Direitos do Homem” (co-authored) and the articles “O Chefe do Estado nos trabalhos constituintes de 1911 – Uma instituição mal-amada” and “O lugar das convenções constitucionais no quadro das fontes do Direito Constitucional”.
