Event Description

On 3 November, we will meet again, this time for an entirely online workshop dedicated to recent developments in Brazil in climate law, carbon markets and their commercial implications. At a time when climate policy and international trade are becoming increasingly intertwined, we want to look more closely at how these challenges are being addressed and at the effects that some European regulatory choices are already producing beyond the EU. The discussion will begin with the Brazilian carbon market, with Alessandra Lehmen, Professor at the UCS - Universidade de Caxias do Sul, before moving to the trade dimension of climate policy with Bruno Capuzzi, Researcher at Insper Agro Global, who will address the impacts of EU instruments such as CBAM, the Deforestation Regulation and sustainable development provisions in EU-Mercosur relations. The session will be moderated by our researcher Tiago Antunes and will take place online from 14:00 to 15:30 Lisbon time.
