Summary
Objectives
This research project aims to identify the main sources of Constitutional Law and constitutional principles in Portuguese-speaking countries, describing and evaluating the terms in which each set of sources is articulated in each national legal tradition. More specifically, the aim is to identify and characterize the scope of material application and relevance of each country's constitutional custom, as opposed to the set of formal sources recognized there. Furthermore, it is also intended to analyze, from a legal point of view, the role, nature and relevance that other informal sources play in the constitutional provisions of each country, such as constitutional conventions and constitutional practices. In doing so, we seek to build a global vision of the forms of production, interpretation and ordering of legal and constitutional principles and rules in Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, East Timor and Macau, from a Constitutional Law and Comparative Law perspective.
