Bio

Ricardo Rodrigues de Oliveira is a guest assistant professor at the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University, having graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and having a doctorate from the European University Institute, in Florence. He also obtained a specialization course in criminal legal sciences at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. He is a contract postdoctoral researcher at the Católica Research Center for the Future of Law and a collaborating researcher at the Lisbon Public Law Research Center. His research interests include Public International Law and European Law, especially in the field of human and fundamental rights, theory and general principles of Law, jurisprudence, data protection, technology and surveillance. He was editor of the European Journal of Legal Studies and is a member of the editorial board of the “Anuário de Proteção de Dados” of the Faculty of Law of Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He is also a jurist-rapporteur for the Human Rights Observatory, as well as a member of ICON-S, ESIL and ELI.
