Short Bio
María Beatriz Arriagada. Bachelor of Laws (Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, 2004). Lawyer (Supreme Court of Chile, 2005). Doctor of Laws (University of Chile, 2013). Professor at Diego Portales University (Chile). She belongs to the Philosophy Institute as well as the Faculty of Law’s Department of Theory, Philosophy, and History of Law, over which she presided as director from 2018 to 2022. She teaches postgraduate courses at several Chilean universities, at the Chilean Judicial Academy, and in the Master in Global Rule of Law and Constitutional Democracy at the University of Genoa and the University of Girona. Her research focuses on the theory of legal norms, legal systems, legal concepts, and fundamental rights, in which she is the author of numerous publications.
