Intimidade da Vida Privada e Media no Ciberespaço

The brave new world of the Internet has revealed a different reality to humanity. This virtual reality, while provoking real conflicts and damages, cannot be ignored by the law. In this context, old problems emerge with new nuances, requiring a combination of unique and specific solutions. This work, focusing on the conflict between freedom of the press and the right to privacy in cyberspace, seeks to understand the new issues that arise and what new solutions are possible. From the collection and processing of personal data to the disclosure of relevant and intimate information, including intrusions into private life, this study aims to contribute to a better resolution of potential conflicts between these two important fundamental rights, while simultaneously ensuring the greatest possible protection of privacy and freedom of the press. This is an almost impossible task in today's Information Society.
