Bio

Carolina Batista has a degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Law and Legal Science, specialising in European Union Law, at the same Faculty. In 2022, she won the Professor António de Sousa Franco 2022 Prize, in the research category, with the essay, “A cidadania europeia e as restrições à livre circulação de pessoas por razões de saúde pública: A COVID-19 e o fecho de Estados-Membros da União Europeia.” and the honourable mention of the Jacques Delors Prize 2022 with the essay, “Entre a Espada e a Parede: A atual crise do Estado de Direito na União Europeia e a ação por incumprimento sistemático como instrumento de garantia.”. Carolina Batista is a jurist, having always been involved in several projects that impact her research interests in the areas of International and European Law and, also, Human Rights, Political Science and Fundamental Rights.
