Bio
Ana Maria Guerra Martins is an Associate Professor with Aggregation at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, and is currently suspended from her duties due to her performance of public duties as a Judge of the Constitutional Court. His main areas of specialisation are European Union Law, International Law and Constitutional Law, having taught in all of them with a special focus on the areas of European Union Institutional Law, International and European Human Rights Law, Human Rights Fundamentals, International Organisations, Law of the Sea and International and European Environmental Law. From her past as a researcher and teacher, highlights include her role as a guest researcher at the Max-Planck-Institut of Heidelberga, as a Guest Professor at the Jean Monnet Faculty of the Paris Sul XI University and at the Faculty of Law of the Eduardo Mondlane University, in Maputo. It integrates international networks of Public Law teachers, such as the European Public Law Center, based in Athens and the European Constitutional Law Network, based in Berlin. Has published a vast body of work in the areas of her specialty, which includes books and articles, in several languages, namely on European Union Law in general, the review of European Treaties, International and European Human Rights Law, Human Rights Litigation, European Union, equality and non-discrimination in European Union Law, European citizenship and the protection of fundamental rights, the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe and the Treaty of Lisbon. Outside the academic field, Ana Maria was Inspector General of Justice Services.
